RESUMO:

This dissertation analyzes the master's programs in economics in Brazil and classifies them as orthodox, pluralist or heterodox, with some intermediate variants. In order to carry out this classification, each compulsory subject (except those of mathematics, statistics or econometrics) that the programs offer was analyzed; subsequently, the dissertations produced recently by their students were analyzed, allowing a general evaluation of each program to be carried out. In total, 162 syllabi and 270 dissertations were analyzed. In order to classify the menus, a list was constructed of which subjects are considered heterodox and which orthodox in the two most common disciplines, macroeconomics and microeconomics. Finally, the dissertation compared the results obtained in it with the ones published by other authors who did a similar job of cataloging Brazilian programs and found different results, given that the methodology used to build the classification was different. In the final remarks reasons are suggested for the differences found and some questions are raised for future work.
