RESUMO:

his research analyzes the 2016 and 2020 electoral cycles in order to answer the following question: Do foreign direct investments made in São Paulo municipalities impact in any way on electoral results? Voter behavior is the central focus of this verification. Do voters make conscientious electoral decisions, as in this case, analyzing the investment levels of cities, or are voters somehow short-sighted, oblivious to specific events? The hypothesis put forward is that investment levels impact electoral results in São Paulo municipalities, and consequently show that voters consciously evaluate measures and that these influence their decision-making.
