RESUMO:

The planning process is a set of practices that reflects styles, priorities of social groups and actors, as well as values and beliefs in a given territory. This cultural dimension results in different views on practices and influences the permanence and transformation of planning systems. To encompass this dimension, studies have been produced in what has been termed as a planning culture. Thus, the objective of the dissertation is to understand, from the review of scientific productions, the use of the planning culture approach (PCA) as a methodological theoretical framework for the analysis of practices in the field of territorial planning. From the bibliographic review of the PCA and field studies in Brazil, a methodological exercise of planning culture analysis was performed in the Brazilian context.
