SUMMARY:

The conjuncture of the world of work is a latent agenda in the global south, given the exploitation of labor, the loss of formal labor bonds and the generation of financial value under the product and not under the worker. Added to housing insecurity and the need for a constant income for survival, this research aims to analyse the relationship between work and housing within vertical occupations organised by socio-territorial movements. The research seeks to discuss whether the housing condition that goes through collective organization is structured in the dynamics of work and income of the residents who make up the tertiary sector of the economy. Directed at the universe of downtown São Paulo, the qualitative study will take place in two buildings organized by the Movimento de Moradia Central e Regional (MMCR), José Bonifácio 237 and Ipiranga 879. The theoretical composition of the research comes from the field of urban and work sociology, aiming at the literary deepening in the work dimension approaching it to socio-spatial issues of housing, added to a qualitative survey to be developed based on oral history.
