Multidimensional Indices for the Analysis of Housing Precariousness: Approaches for Formulation and Application
The housing issue is a problem to be faced worldwide. In Brazil, the latest IBGE survey (2020) shows that there are more than 5 million households in subnormal agglomerations. Thus, it is increasingly important to improve techniques capable of identifying areas that, in some way, are potentially precarious. Aiming to create alternatives for these surveys, the present work seeks to explore methodologies for the formulation of indices of housing precariousness, a phenomenon considered multidimensional. For the comparison and analysis of the different approaches, the developed indices will be applied in the Greater ABC Region (RGABC), located in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo.
