RESUMO:

In this work, we present a study about a contraption that generates the trajectory of a device capable of making a “square-shaped hole” from simple circular rotation motion, the highlight is a constant width figure whose width is the same in any direction considered. The motivation for this study is two flat geometric shapes of constant diameter: the first is the Reuleaux Triangle, which is constructed from an equilateral triangle, drawing circular arcs covering each side, centering on the opposite vertex and the second is one of the variations of Reuleaux’s polygons, a curve constructed from two isosceles right triangles and the combination of four arcs of three different radius.
