SUMMARY:

In this work, we study the dynamics of a piecewise smooth impact hybrid system, from the bifurcation point of view 

related to the contact of T-periodic solutions with the discontinuity manifold Σ, in a regular grazing point of order 4. 

Such bifurcations are known as grazing bifurcation (border collision type). With this objective, we will construct the 

applications called ZDM (Zero Discontinuity Mapping) and PDM (Poincaré Discontinuity Mapping) 

for regular grazing points of order 4, whose purpose is to correct the behavior of the flows in a neighborhood 

of these points. In this context, two problems will be the object of study: finding the ZDM and the PDM close 

to regular grazing points of order 4, and, from there, analyzing the possible bifurcation scenarios that may 

occur for small perturbation of the hybrid impact system that admits regular grazing T-periodic orbit of order 4.
