SUMMARY:

Recent experimental advances, involving the interaction between trapped ions and fields in optical cavities, have reached a regime in which the ion-field coupling exceeds the system's decay rates, characterizing a new regime that renders essential approximations in conventional theoretical approaches invalid. Here, we will present how increasing coupling impacts the quantum resources of the system. Our results were developed considering two models: the first describes the interaction of the ion with the cavity, while the second describes a quantum network formed by two interacting cavities. Our results highlight new phenomena that arise in the strong coupling regime, these phenomena being characterized by the emergence of quantum resources and the increase of these resources, such as sub-Poissonian statistics, negativity in the Wigner function, relative entropy of coherence and quantum correlations, as well such as the emergence of non-Markovian processes in this new coupling.
