SUMMARY:

The Kerr metric, found in 1963, was the first solution for a rotating blackhole, later on Newman and Janis were able to find the same result and another one, the Kerr-Newman metric, through a new procedure. Since then, the search for new rotating blackholes solution had been less complicate by using the Newman-Janis algorithm as main tool to obtain new solutions. Even though it has a great potencial, the algorithm feature some problems within its procedure (abitrariness of complexification and lack of generality) that are solved by different proposals of modifications. This thesis has the objetive of apply the algorithm and its modifications in the search of new solution, moreover the thesis presents and discuss briefily all the diferent proposals of modification to have all of them reunited in the same place. The development of this study was directed to seed metrics with hyperbolical symmetry, since exist an absence of results for thoses cases, as result of this work, a new modification was found to ensure the algorithm sucess, which is presented as the outcome of this work
