SUMMARY:

Abstract
Quantum mechanics is one of the physical theories that has achieved tremendous success.
In it, there are theoretical models to calculate the results of experiments involving atoms,
molecules, elementary particles, electromagnetic radiation, and solid state of matter.
Nevertheless, since the formulation of theory, a profound reflection on their interpretations
and implications fosters heated debates. Albert Einstein and his collaborators were the first
to manifest harsh criticism of the formalism of quantum mechanics. They published a work
in which they elucidated their criticism based on a thought experience, where they believed
they proved that quantum theory had an incomplete description of reality. The concept
of realism goes beyond mathematical postulations or physical models, its conception
dwells in the kingdom of the philosophy of science. Recently, the study on this theme
has been relevant, because Bilobran and R. M. Angelo proposed an operational model
that quantifies the degree of realism of an observable given a certain preparation. To have
access to this measure, a map has been incorporated that enters system monitoring from a
weak measurement to a projective measurement. Subsequently, P. R. Dieguez established
a complementary relationship between the information acquired by the measurement
apparatus and the degree of unreality of the observable monitored. In this context,
the variation of realism can be associated with both the local concentration of the
system and the shared correlation between subsystems. In this paper, we will present an
experimental proposal, in the photonic context, to simulate the action of this monitoring
map and calculate the variation of realism through the agreed mathematical expression.
To investigate the relationship between system correlation and variation of realism, we
will present a way to build Werner states from a source of twin photons. We will show
that a Sagnac interferometer with arbitrary modifications reproduces the action of this
monitoring.
