For a philosophy of the ideological sign: an introduction to the thought of Valentin Volochinov.

The joint analysis of the texts produced by Valentin Nikoláievitch Voloshinov - during the period in which he worked as a researcher and professor at the Institute of Comparative History of the Literatures and Languages of the West and East (ILIAZV) - is an opportunity to reconsider several important problems of philosophy of language, based on the conception of the Sign as an ideological entity. With this work, we seek to identify a vocabulary of his thoughts, indicating where and how his main concepts appear and how they are related within the entire work, building coherence and progression. We also seek to provide a general description of the context of production of his work, establishing the epistemological connections that are specific to them and seeking to establish the limits and potentialities of his criticism and theoretical foundations, with regard, on the one hand, to Marxist tradition in philosophy and, on the other hand, to the neo-Kantian current, through the work of Ernst Cassirer.
