SUMMARY:

This work is equivalent to an effort to decolonize the field of philosophy of history, more specifically,

 it corresponds to an exercise in criticism of the Hegelian philosophy of universal history and its 

relationship with colonialism. Examining the text of the Introduction to Hegel's Lessons on the Philosophy 

of History indicated the thesis of the endogenous development of European modernity as the most problematic

 aspect of applying the category of universality to global history, with the most serious consequence being

 the creation of an ontological difference between Europeans and non-Europeans. Thus, the research sought

 to discuss methodological alternatives capable of dealing with the concrete worldliness that was established

 after 1492, without succumbing to the narrative of Eurocentric modernity and its claim to universality. 

Finally, the research sought to highlight the importance of the critique of universal history for the fight 

against racism.
