SUMMARY:

Magnetism and the properties of magnetic materials, as shown to students, is a hidden subject in high school. The lack of time and propaedeutic content reduced the possibility of the teacher becoming an in-depth subject in the classroom. On the other hand, the phenomenon of magnetism is present in the student's daily life and promotes a huge impact due to facing the attraction effects of magnetic objects by magnets. This feeling is treated throughout this dissertation with a history and a review of the theme. Since the aim of bringing this potential subject and driving the student to question and be interested in physics, an educational product about magnetism and magnetic materials is elaborated, developed and presented in this thesis. This educational product consists of a class sequence based on the Freirean methodology known as Three Pedagogical Moments and supported by a magnetic induced simulator and two magnetic experiments whose emphasis is on problematizing the phenomenon. This product was applied to six classes of the third grade of high school belonging to two schools, one private and the other public, located in the city of São Paulo. The application presented good results identified by the evaluation of this dissertation.
