RESUMO:

Currently, the idea of waves that high school students have most of the time is just what happens in the sea without easily noticing other tangible examples of waves in their experience. In the field of Physics we know that a wave is any disturbance that is transmitted from one point to another without the transport of matter. In this dissertation we propose to bring the topic of waves to the classroom, emphasizing electromagnetic and mechanical waves as well as the types of propagation and vibration, from the perspective of Jerome Bruner's ideas. For this work, methods such as Just-in-Time Teaching and Flipped Classroom connected with the student's culture were used, which will tend to transform the student into a researcher of knowledge with conditions to achieve a meaning of what he is learning at school. The application of this educational product led the student to carry out a lot of research and reflections on what happens in the environment when they think about waves and from the results presented the learning was productive, even using technological means such as Google Classroom and Whatsapp, which were very effective at the time of the Coronavirus pandemic.

This application was made in the form of a review for 110 third year high school students so that it was possible to consolidate what was seen in the previous year, when they were in the second year. Initially a diagnostic questionnaire was made, then there was an application of two didactic experiments that provided the possibility for the student to learn the concepts of wave using its resources, then other questionnaires were applied to the following topics: mechanical waves, association between heat and waves, electromagnetic waves and their applications and waves in the electromagnetic field. At the end of the application process, students answered a final questionnaire for self-assessment purposes. In general, the results were satisfactory, with a high level of performance in the questionnaires and acceptance of the methodology.

With this distincted application we aim to contribute to the teaching of waves in Physics and consequently provide the student with the opportunity to achieve meaningful learning, which is the essence of our knowledge.
