RESUMO:

Nuclear physics is an extremely important topic. Its relevance is due to its use, or its concepts, in different technologies of modern life. Nuclear physics is present in image diagnostics, in pest control, in food preservation techniques and in obtaining more efficient energy sources. Some radioactive elements can be found in common everyday foods like bananas and milk. High school students need to learn more about the concepts of nuclear physics, in order to break paradigms and prejudices that relate only to danger, accidents and atomic bombs. This work aims to deepen the theme through a potentially significant teaching unit, working with concepts such as: radioactive elements, radioactive decays and dosimetry, through the use of active methodologies such as the inverted class, and the insertion of a game of board created especially for this project, called: Chernothrill. Through this UEPS, students should understand the importance of using nuclear energy, concluding that nuclear physics is very close to everyday life, in addition to understanding how radioactivity affects the human body.
