ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF THE LLC RESONANT CONVERTER WITH SYNCHRONOUS RECTIFICATION
In this study, a comprehensive analysis of various resonant converter topologies was conducted, with a special focus on the operation of the LLC resonant converter and methodologies for its design, along with synchronous rectification. These investigations significantly contribute to a deeper understanding of resonant converters in general, particularly the LLC resonant converter, which stands out among other topologies. To design the LLC resonant converter, two distinct methodologies were employed, and their results were analyzed and compared using gain curves. Additionally, a modification to the synchronous rectification algorithm was implemented to further minimize losses. The results reveal that the first design methodology is more accurate compared to the second. The modification in the synchronous rectification algorithm was found to effectively reduce losses to a minimum. Based on the obtained results, this study provides a detailed understanding of the time-domain behavior of the LLC resonant converter and emphasizes the importance of selecting the appropriate methodology for its design. Achieving precise component values is crucial for achieving high efficiency. Furthermore, it is emphasized that synchronous rectification plays a crucial role in achieving higher system efficiency.
