Control Methods for the Single-Phase Induction Motor
This work shows rotor field oriented indirect vector control for the single-phase induction motor. Inner current control is implemented using three methods: hysteresis, synchronous PI and Predictive. The main purposed of this study is to realize a model simulation of the single-phase induction motor, vector control and current control using the Matlab®, Simulink® development platform. Simulation results shows advantages of predictive control in comparison with conventional methods considering as reference parameters: ripple current, harmonic distortion and switching frequency. Controllers performance is evaluated with the motor running with and without mechanical load. The behavior of stator and rotor currents, electromagnetic torque, rotor flux and mechanical rotor speed are shown. Values obtained are presented in conjunction with graphical views of analyzed magnitudes. In the second part of this work experimental results will be obtained to support simulation results.
