Optimal Power Flow with Non-Smooth Generation Function, Emissions and Voltage Profile Using AMPL And Knitro Solver.
The optimal power flow problem (FPO) aims to analyze the planning and operation of electrical power systems and can be considered one of its most popular problems due to the benefits that can be obtained. This work analyzed the application of AMPL (Modeling Language for Mathematical Programming) and the Kinitro solver, to solve the economic dispatch (DE) problem, modeled as an Optimal Power Flow. Valve point nonlinearities of generators, voltage profile and emissions were considered. The problem was implemented considering the objective function with a single objective and a combination of objectives. Additionally, a heuristic was proposed to deal with the discrete characteristic related to the value of transformer taps. The IEEE 30-bus test system was presented to illustrate the application of the proposed problem. The results obtained were compared with those in the literature and the superiority of the approach was demonstrated.
