Optimum battery management to minimize electrical energy losses in a distribution grid with high penetration of photovoltaic energy
The insertion of photovoltaic generators in high proportion along the distribution network can cause several impacts on the operation in the distribution network, knowing that once these networks were not designed to receive this injection of power along the feeders. In this context, the objective of this work is to present a study of the problem of optimal battery management to minimize electrical energy losses in a distribution network with high penetration of photovoltaic generation. The study showed a loss reduction of around 32% in systems with high penetration of PV generation. The language to be considered is AMPL to model the Optimal Power Flow (FPO) problem, an algebraic modeling language used to describe high-complexity mathematical programming problems. The AMPL language supports a large number of free and commercial solvers.
