In recent years, electric vehicles have received attention as alternatives to urban mobility with internal combustion to reduce dependence on oil. Thus public and private agents have created incentives to increase the penetration of electric vehicles in the urban fleet. Given the global penetration of electric vehicles in cities, finding an area for installing a recharging infrastructure has become a necessity, as the growth of electric vehicles can be encouraged by the availability of recharging stations. Therefore, due to the need for recharging electric vehicles, the agents involved in the diffusion of electric vehicles must build recharging stations to meet the electric vehicle demand, enabling each electric vehicle to find an available station within the urban area. This work proposes a methodology for determining recharging zones, using vehicle flow information in the urban zone and the technical constraints of the electric grid. The proposed method can help the planners and the agents in the diffusion of electric mobility to find the point of connection of the station within recharging zones, considering as criteria: the places with the highest flow of electric vehicles, low level of charge in the batteries, and cost functions for the connection of the recharging stations. The proposal uses a allocation algorithm based on the p-median model to minimize the total cost function defined by the agents involved. The expected results of this methodology will help in the integrated planning of resources for decision-making about the locations for the installation of recharging stations.
