RESUMO:

The goal of this dissertation is to research the organizational and acting practices, the collective identities and the political objectives of political acting groups that call themselves “collective”, in order to analyze common elements that characterize them, as well as to investigate tensions and limits in their internal relations and interfaces with society. To this end, five groups of different themes in the city of São Paulo were interviewed: Casadalapa, Coletivo 20 de novembro, Coletivo Digital, Coletivo Sycorax and Organismo Parque Augusta. The present analysis recognizes that the “collective” self-denomination is associated with the use of more horizontal and collaborative organizational practices, however it points to the existence of elements that problematize and limit this construction. It was also not verified the centrality in the use of information and communication technologies by the collectives, not being considered a differential of these groups. The research aims to contribute to the mapping of the diversity of the field of collective action and social movements and to add elements to the collective phenomenon, contributing to broaden and deepen the knowledge about the constitution and ways of making this collective actor.
