RESUMO:

This paper aims to analyze the role of marginal-peripheral literature in the formation of readers in the public school from the experience lived with elementary school students from the municipal network of São Paulo. I try to highlight some situations that were relevant during my experiences as a Portuguese Language teacher, and observe the presence of this literature in the curriculum guidelines of the network, thus seeking to contribute to the dissemination of peripheral literature and the pedagogical work it can provide.
