SUMMARY:

The present research aims to discuss possible structural elements that, when naturalized, would impose limitations and restrictions on the presence and activity of women within the political arena and centers of power. With this goal in mind, we seek to combine the extensive conceptual discussion already existing on the gender issue with qualitative research that analyzes the perception and experience of women who held prominent positions during the electoral terms of President Dilma Rousseff (2011-2016), a period during which the highest number of women were in the Ministries' Cabinet.
