SUMMARY:

Our proposal in the thesis is to record and understand the trajectory of women from the ABC region, state of São Paulo, who participated in social movements and their articulation both in the public and private sphere, from the endo f the dictatorship to the presente day. For the qualification text, the memories of three women who lived in the region during the brazilian dictatorship period were chosen, in which we analyzed how they narrate about their experiences of socialization, union and political engagement. Their memories, which were constructed and reconstructed through transmission in the Family and friendship network, in the space and time in which the contexts of the interviwes surface (Pollack, 1989). Memories were woven into their narratives about their experience in the Church, living with Other women, Family and work. The idea of developing na deep study on the trajectories and memories emerged during the author’s master’s research in which, through interviews with women in the region, we discoverd the articulation and influence of these women in social movements. The performances and experiences of these women for a long time were submerged and even forgotten in a certain way, but they were not lost. In this text, we shift the gaze of social movements tha emerged at the time to the memories of the women who composed social movements. We emphasize that the period chosen for study was still under the dictatorial government and in addition to the struggles for rights, movements against the dictatorship, in favor of redemocratization, were also relevant. We try to know the trajectory of each one, both in personal and public live and analyze how they managed to reconcilie and give meaning to their participation and experiences.
