TITLE:

BLACK AND POSITHIVE WOMEN WANT A JOB: THE EXPERIENCE OF YOUNG BLACK AND BLACK WOMEN LIVING WITH HIV IN THE LABOR MARKET

PAGES: 125
BIG AREA: Outra
AREA: Multidisciplinar
SUMMARY:

The research seeks to find out how race, gender and social class are social markers to understand access to the labor market by the black population living with HIV/AIDS, from the perspective of the people themselves and, consequently, how the social and labor influence their ways of life and treatment. The general objective of the research is to analyze the insertion in the labor market of young black men and women living with HIV/AIDS between 18 and 29 years old who live in the city of São Paulo, considering their reports, perceptions and life trajectories at work. The conclusion is that the perception of these young people regarding employability and the social markers of difference happens according to their experiences, that is, young people from the LGBTQIA+ and women segments tend to privilege gender oppression, sexuality and the stigma of AIDS in their narratives, while young black and heterosexual people tend to perceive racial discrimination more clearly, although all participants perceive with different nuances that race and gender oppression together with economic exploitation of social class operate in their lives together. This perception defeats my research project thesis, which was that the perception of young black people would be hierarchical and simultaneous. Thinking about the HIV/AIDS epidemic only through a biological prism can neglect the real influencing processes of illness and quality of life, of access or exclusion to work and rights. With regard to methodology, the research will be qualitative, using the theoretical and methodological framework of historical dialectical materialism and intersectional research to carry out in-depth interviews with four (4) young black men and women living with HIV/AIDS, residents in the city of São Paulo.
