SUMMARY:

The present qualification report points out the path taken so far in the doctoral research. It sought to discuss the neoliberal influence on public policies related to the treatment of drug users in Brazil and its correlation with evangelical Christian morality. We sought to access the construction of discourses built by therapeutic communities about themselves and about drug users, and to understand how these discursive practices affect the lives of drug users beyond treatment. The backdrop of this research is neoliberalism itself and its morality. The theoretical framework of the research is Foucauldian based, understanding the interweaving of the weft of the studied object with the threads of power, where a whole structure of image production, politics and management is woven, based on discursive orders and narratives articulated to the theme of drug use, religion and the treatment of drug users in neoliberal morality.
