RESUMO:

The beginning of the 21st century was marked by a paradigm shift in the means of communication and interaction in contemporary societies. The arrival and wide access to the internet, with its horizontal architecture, in the first decade of the 2000s, gave rise to a series of social movements that seemed to converge towards the construction of collectivities based on ideas of social justice, democracy and the common. But capitalism, operated in the implacable key of neoliberalism, has always been ready to react to this wave of networks of indignation and hope. The closed and controlled structure of the main online social networks commanded by the Silicon Valley oligopoly, linked to the global economic crisis of 2008, has revived, in several countries, something that, for the inattentive, seemed to be buried in the not-so-distant past. : fascism. Since 2010, a reactionary wave, led by far-right political representatives, has appropriated the ambivalence of the networks, the weaknesses of the capitalist system and liberal democracy itself to bring, in a naturalized way, the facets of fascism back to the center of society. . The elections that took Donald Trump to the presidency of the United States, in 2016, formalized fascism in front of the most powerful country in the world and, undoubtedly, opened wide the doors to the rise of what, in this work, is called cyber-fascism. It is about recognizing the fascistization of contemporary societies, in the current historical time, which is operated, communicationally, in the key of cyberculture. In addition to Trump, other far-right leaders, formal representatives of fascism, have also gained relevance on the world political stage. In Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro became president of the country in 2018 and, since then, has led the growing formalization of Brazilian cyber-fascism. This thesis presents, from the dialogue between the theoretical references, the functioning of fascism, in its essence, the relationship between neoliberalism and cyber-fascism and shows how reactionary communication, officially operated by the Brazilian government, through online networks line, has been one of the main allies of cyber-fascism in Bolsonaro's Brazil.
