RESUMO:

This thesis aims to analyze eleven films of the documentary genre that approach the political leadership of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva along his trajectory on the national scene. The purpose of this work is to discuss, understanding the documentaries as narrative sources and, therefore, doing a narrative research, Lula's type of political leadership at specific moments in his productions, analyzing aesthetically how he was represented by the various directors. Therefore, it is intended here to have, at the end of the analysis of all the selected films and of the analysis of the various symbolic forms present in them, different narratives about Lula that allow me to understand the process of consolidating this politician as an important national leadership. As a general objective, I will analyze whether there are traces of the political phenomenon discussed academically entitled "Lulism" present in the selected films. My hypothesis is that the selected films allow us to understand, through the aesthetic representation promoted by the filmmakers, the process that led to the consolidation of Lula's political leadership as an important figure of national expression. In addition, I believe it is possible to identify traces of Lulism present in these films, which further collaborates to understand this phenomenon debated in contemporary times. In addition to the necessary bibliographic review for this work, I will use the film analysis proposed by Vera Chaia (2016) and the Depth Hermeneutics, used by John Thompson in “Ideology and Modern Culture” (2012).
