RESUMO:

Trametes fungi are basidiomycetes that stand out in the degradation of recalcitrant pollutants present in the environment, such as nitroaromatic compounds, which are priority pollutants from the explosives industry, which 2,4,6 - trinitrotoluene (TNT). ). The aim of this study was to study the ability of the Trametes versicolor TV 2842 and Trametes villosa TV 4093 fungi to degrade TNT. The impact potential of this pollutant was evaluated based on relevant bibliographic antecedents and through experiments under different cultivation conditions. The fungal tractability experiments were based on the conduction of a designed procedure of experiments performed on solid medium - Malt Extract Agar (MEA) and enriched liquid medium (ME). Where growth was monitored as a function of temperature for each species, T.versicolor showed better growth at 30 ºC while T. villosa  at 28 ºC. Among the most statistically favorable factors were the TNT standard concentrations (1 ppm and 0.5 ppm), TV 2842 species and ME components. These conditions were considered as experimental basis for the fungal treatment of TNT for a period of 14 days. The results indicated that both T.versicolor and T.villosa  under the study conditions were able to convert and degrade by more than 90% TNT at times of 7 and 14 days. The result set not only reaffirms the potentiality of T. versicolor, which is already widely recommended in the literature, but also indicates the T. villosa species, which is not well studied, with significant capacity for remediation of contaminated environments as well as the degradation of relevant chemical compounds. as nitroaromatic compounds. As environmental degradation is an increasingly recurring problem, it is evident the need to look for clean and sustainable alternatives and fungi are great candidates for this issue.
