RESUMO:

In this research, the term e-learning is used to refer to education mediated by virtual learning environments in any modality: face-to-face, distance, or hybrid. In e-learning, the teacher usually organizes the course sequence, contents and activities, according to his didactic-pedagogical strategies and expects this organization to guide each student in his learning process in the course. However, unless restrictions are imposed, students may choose to follow paths other than those indicated in the organization of the material. Knowing the learning paths followed by students is essential so that the teacher can analyze the learning results and also the effectiveness, both of the didactic-pedagogical approach and of the organization of the course materials. Several virtual learning environments store students' interaction with course materials through event logging. With the support of Process Mining (PM) methods, these data can reveal the learning trajectory based on historical information and flow models of the actions performed. Applied to educational data, PM is called Educational Process Mining (MPE). There are some computational tools to support the use of PM to discover, monitor and improve processes. However, teachers' use of these tools is not trivial, requiring the production of scientific knowledge to provide and encourage the use of MPE by this audience. Some studies have been carried out in this direction, but still with no results that make it possible to expand the use of MPE by teachers. This work aims to propose an application model for the Mining of Educational Processes that makes it easier for the teacher to identify and analyze students' learning paths in e-learning. The expectation is that the results of these analyzes will be used by the teacher to make interventions to improve students' learning results. In this document, for an understanding of the preliminary proposal, concepts and discussions regarding PM are presented, works related to MPE, theoretical approaches to educational design, experiments and analysis of preliminary results carried out on the log of a course held in Moodle. The work is following the Design Science Research (DSR) methodology and the planning of the next steps includes refinement of the preliminary model and evaluation of the model. From the preliminary evaluation of the model, it is understood that it can be revised in order to consider various forms of intervention that can be performed by the teacher, based on the analysis, such as, for example, the design and redesign of courses.
