PROCESS MODEL FOR DISTANCE COURSE EDUCACIONAL
The emergency remote teaching adopted during the Covid-19 pandemic period reignited the discussion about the importance of Distance Education, which although not a recent topic, until that milestone was still treated as an option for Institutions and Governments.
Aligned with the understanding of the importance of distance education as an instrument for guaranteeing educational opportunities at the opportune moment for consolidating this teaching segment, this work aims to propose a process model for implementing distance learning courses, serving as a framework to direct the necessary activities between everyone involved in the construction of a distance learning course, from the educational institution to the student, adopting the best practices in business process management – BPM and project management –PMBOK, without neglecting pedagogical practices.
To evaluate the hypothesis of this work, the current scenario of research and proposals for business process models applied to distance education was investigated. A systematic literature review (RSL) was carried out, where we validated that there is room to propose a process model that supports this construction.
With the hypothesis validated, the next step was process modeling, where each model received a description detailing: inputs and outputs, roles and responsibilities and proposed artifacts to guide the execution of the process model.
The next steps of this work will focus on the adoption of a tool capable of automating the proposed models so that the processes can be executed in a systematic way, therefore allowing the management of the process and collection of results to evaluate whether there will be gains, yes or no, in the use of a specific methodology in the task of implementing a distance learning course and whether the process model presented is adequate.
