RESUMO:

The recent development of Geographic Information Systems and the high availability of geolocation resources have stimulated the generation of geographic data. The correct use of this data depends heavily on its quality and capacity for integration. To find a suitable way to integrate geographic data, it is essential to define a strategy for identifying errors. In this context, this work aims to propose a way to identify and classify geographic errors, for the purpose of automatic verification and data quality control. The classification uses the ISO 19157 standard as a reference and applies integration strategies based on data from open formats and free software for the automatic verification of errors in geographic data. The results show two case studies using archives with municipal limits of the state of São Paulo, from different sources, showing positive results.
