Technological development has created educational institutions' conditions to adopt new pedagogical strategies to enrich the students' teaching-learning process through technology-mediated education. The vision of teaching as a social phenomenon is incorporated in the domain of computer-assisted learning. In this way, ways of using social characteristics in virtual teaching environments are explored. In this context, the Conversational Pedagogical Agents (CPA) area denotes the development of applications aimed at improving the interaction between students in virtual learning environments. Studies indicate students' preference for virtual learning environments that provide interaction with such agents, as they promote proximity to relevant educational roles, in a scenario that, in general, students feel distant from teachers and other colleagues. However, the use of CPA has been little explored in virtual learning environments. In this sense, this work has a general objective to present the CPA Penelopinha, developed for the knowledge domain of Introduction to Programming, and integrated into the Learning Management System Moodle. In addition to the APC, the following work results stand out: the specification of a process for the development of APC and its integration with Moodle, the modeling of the knowledge domain of the UFABC Information Processing subject, the evaluation of the efficiency of the dialogues presented by the Agent and the assessment of user perception in human-machine interaction provided by APC based on the Attrakdiff questionnaire.
