RESUMO:

The mobile area is the fastest growing area in the design of interactive systems, as it covers all types of devices, from cell phones, small computers, notebooks, personal assistants, e-book readers, as well as tangible and wearable storage devices. A huge variety of devices, which have different types of controls and different features, make the design for mobile furniture a great challenge. Allied to the variety of mobile devices, there is also the diversity of users who are attracted by ubiquity at prices returned to these artifacts. To serve this range of heterogeneous users, the software installed on the devices provides different accessibility devices, as is the case with operating systems (OS’s). These systems, already built into cell phones, provide a set of accessibility settings. These configurations become so important in OSes that without them it would not be possible to provide consumers with a single type of mobile device for different types of users. Thus, it can be said that the native configurations of cell phones allow reaching, as far as possible, these universal devices. On the other hand, OS settings, most of the time, do not reflect in the various applications installed on mobile devices, this occurs when an application does not support the accessibility configuration of the cell phone and the application blocks these settings to avoid inconsistencies. Ideally, to solve this problem, mobile application developers can implement their application as OS settings, however, many of the needs to meet different types of users are not available in the application development APIs. Another way of mitigating this problem would be to implement location requirements within each application to meet different types of users. To make this implementation feasible, understanding the real needs of different types of users becomes a challenging task for the system analyst, who would need to carry out a project centered on various types of users. Previous work on mobile accessibility has mainly focused on mobile accessibility guidelines for the visually impaired and elderly accessibility of the mobile web, or on apps that are specifically for people with physical disabilities. On the other hand, it offers in advance to the analyst / developer the requirements so that the application can meet the accessibility settings is the first step for the challenges to be overcome and universal access to be achieved. But what exactly are these configuration requirements? Are there guidelines for its implementation? Is it feasible to implement them? What is the most suitable design for each of them? Do they really protect to achieve Universal Design? These questions can only be answered by involving the user in the process of gathering requirements and designing application applications. In order to answer these questions, with user involvement, this project was developed. As a result of this research, a set of configuration guidelines and interface design standards for each will be provided. The work will also provide open source lines that implement these requirements on Android® and that can be reused in other applications.
