Scalable architecture for sharing PEPs using Hyperledger Blockchain
Blockchain technology has been applied in several areas, ranging from financial to health. Although this technology offers benefits, for instance immutability, anonymity, and decentralization of information, its use presents some issues, been the scalability in terms of size storage one of them. This work presents a data model for sharing electronic health records among health information system that use a scalable architecture based on a multi-channel Hyperledger Blockchain. The architecture uses one global blockchain to record patient visits and several blockchains, one for each health institution, to record the Electronic Health Records (EHRs). Among the main conclusions, the results highlight the scalability of the proposed model and architecture when compared to the related work models.
