Hybrid multicriteria modeling for the acquisition of wet mortar pumping equipment in civil construction
The need to increase the use of equipment in construction to reduce production time and reduce waste are vital to civil construction processes. Thus, one of the measures is the use of equipment to pump mortar for various applications. However, a point not found in the specialized literature is how the decision is made to choose the best alternative for pumping equipment. Thus, the purpose of this research is to present a decision support study using a hybrid modelling to evaluate five alternatives of pumps existing in the Brazilian market. In a first step, it was found that the following criteria are relevant for the decision to purchase this type of equipment: Performance, Ease of Use, After Sales, Quality, Market Reference, and Price. Subsequently, as result of the AHP model application, it was found that the Price criterion has overall greater weight (38.4%) in the decision to purchase this equipment, followed by the decision of the Quality criteria (24.36%) and Market Reference (15 .6%). This result was reflected in the ranking of preference for acquisition of the equipment alternatives analysed by the TOPSIS model.
