Sherlock Holmes, Darwin and Veblen go to the bar: Dialogues between Evidential Paradigm, evolutionary biology and original institutionalism
The present study has as main objectives to present the Evidential paradigm and its applicability in economic science. Two initial hypotheses guided the research, the first is that the evidential paradigm is at least one of the possible means of epistemological access to evolutionary entities. The second hypothesis is that at least in some works by Thorstein Veblen a method similar to the evidential method can be found. This work is organized into four parts, the first and second chapters are philosophical in nature, focused on discussions of philosophy and methodology of science. The third chapter presents questions from evolutionary biology and relates them to the conclusions of the second chapter about the evidential paradigm. Chapter four exposes part of Veblen's work that relates it to the conclusions of chapters two and three, thus responding to the second initial hypothesis.
