The concept of Charity in the Confessions of St Augustine.
The thesis seeks to develop the concept of charity in St. Augustine's Confessions. The aim of the research is to investigate the centrality of Christ's charity in the ontological formation (formatio) of the volitional soul of the world. In light of the nature of the Trinity and its image in the human constitution, we seek to show the capacity of formation of a general will that is united through a genuine bond of charity in search of unity with the Father. From an ontological dependence of the human essence in relation to the divine Trinity (Father, Son-Son-Verb-Principle and Holy Spirit) this thesis seeks to develop a study of the political, ethical, and metaphysical aspects of Christ's charity within the Christian project of the late antique period and in the philosophical agenda of St. Augustine's Confessions.
