Introductory essay and portuguese translation of the book: ¿Existe una filosofia de nuestra América?, by Augusto Salazar Bondy
This is an introductory essay for the portuguese translation of the book: ¿Existe una filosofia de nuestra América?, by the peruvian Augusto Salazar Bondy (1925-1974). In the form of a presentation, a bibliographic review was carried out on the work of three fundamental authors for the peruvian tradition of thought, thus outlining a small panorama of that tradition; from this conceptual floor, in this sense, the challenge for the entire philosophical tradition of Latin America is made possible. They are three authors who recognizedly influenced the work of the peruvian philosopher and who can help in approaching the central thesis of the book: that there is no Philosophy in our America, nor had it ever existed, but that it was of fundamental importance that it begin to exist. From the character of the question that the title of the book formulates, it can be inferred that it is a provocation; this is how it motivated the answers in some academic philosophers. Thus, from the bases of peruvian thought, in this case, a question would have arisen for the philosophical thought of the region.
