Foundations on soil for umbalanced rotating machines: soil/structure and machine/structure intertions
In this work, we study models that represent shallow-type foundations directly supported on soil to sustain periodic load-generating mechanical systems, unbalanced rotary-type machines, specifically.
The objectives in general of this study are to propose better models for machine-foundation interaction analysis and soil-foundation interaction analysis. For these purposes, the analysis of non-ideal models and the elastic theory of semi-space are studied.
It´s intended to develop physical models of machine-foundation analysis and ground-foundation interactions. Initially, the mathematical models will be formulated referring to the proposed physical models, via Lagrange’s equations, and then resolve numerically.
Ultimately, the main specific objective will be the evaluation of the convenience or not of the use of these new models instead of those usually employed in engineering practice.
