Civil society, digital participation and environment: analusis of political debate about CONSEMA-SP on social netwartks sites
The present work has as its theme the analysis of participative democracy promoted by members of participative institutions, through their online social networks. To this end, the case of the State Council of Environment of the State of São Paulo (CONSEMA) will be studied. Given the current scenario, in which society is faced with the challenges of an environmental crisis aggravated by a controversial environmental policy, participatory democracy has a fundamental role in transforming this reality. Given this context, the research aims to evaluate how the environmentalist members of Consema expand, on their respective social network platforms, the debate about the agendas of this collegiate. The study was done through the collection of information in the literature, the analysis of the Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages and profiles of these entities, and by interviewing their representatives. The final analysis will be based on the results of the research and the theoretical knowledge already published on social participation and digital democracy, directed to environmental policy. Finally, it is expected that the results will indicate that participatory democracy is widened through Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), but that limited use is made of these tools, reaching only the first degrees of digital popular participation. Scientific studies, such as this, are fundamental to understand the current dynamics of sociopolitical interaction, and can thus guide actions to strengthen Brazilian democracy.
