IMMIGRANTS AND THE HOUSING ISSUE: Haitians' experience with housing costs in the city of São Paulo
The following text aims at raising the issue of housing in São Paulo for Haitian migrants based on their location in the labor market. It appears that, based on data about their average salary and the sector in which they work, Haitian migrants end up having to deal with limitations to their housing options, being the expenses with rent or home ownership part of the fine balance to stay in Brazil. Thus, through a series of qualitative interviews, in an open model, and quantitative, with the support of a questionnaire, the research seeks to illustrate a small clipping of the situation of Haitian migrants with the issue of residence and how this issue unfolds through a series of topics on work, access to consumer goods and possibilities for the future in the country.
