RESUMO:
Climate change is modifying the relationship between human populations and environmental conditions, increasing the need to understand how climatic factors influence outdoor climatic comfort at different temporal and spatial scales. Although indoor climate control can mitigate thermal discomfort, it contributes to energy consumption and environmental impacts, reinforcing the importance of understanding natural climatic conditions in outdoor environments. This doctoral research aims to simulate the spatial distribution of outdoor climatic comfort under past, present, and future climate scenarios at a global scale. The study integrates subjective perceptions of climatic comfort with large-scale climatic datasets to evaluate the influence of temperature, humidity, and natural lighting conditions on perceived outdoor comfort. The proposed framework will be applied to paleoclimatic reconstructions and future climate projections, combined with demographic datasets, to investigate potential relationships between climatic comfort variations, human distribution patterns, and future climate challenges. The expected results will contribute to a better understanding of the role of climatic conditions in human-environment interactions and support discussions on climate adaptation under future global change scenarios.
